Jan Freeman will return to Philadelphia — her home turf — and read from her new collection of poetry, Blue Structure (Calypso Editions). Martin Woodside, poet, translator, children's book author, and a Calypso Editions founder, will read from The River Goes Two Ways and recent work.
Jan's last reading in Philadelphia took place many years ago in Giovanni's Room, following the publication of her award-winning first collection of poems, Hyena (CSU). The natural world of the Wissahickon and Chester County continue to weave through the poems in this new book, which travels from passion through grief, loss, love, and continuum.
